Wedding Story

Forever Home

Amber and I have had a whirlwind romance indeed. We met on a blind date April 14th 2010, after 4 days of talking on the phone and realizing how amazingly similar we are. Our first time meeting, she came to my house and over dinner and drinks, we had great conversation. Amber says she knew I was the one that night when she asked me what I was looking for in someone, and I told her that I wanted someone to call home, someone I know will be there, who makes me feel safe. Ironically enough, she had always told everyone she was looking for the person that when she looked at them, she felt at home.

My life has been so perfect every day since meeting her. She shows me a kind of love that I thought existed only in prayers. I must say i'm completely spoiled. Every single day that i've walked in the door from work I am greeted with a love letter. Recently she has taken to coordinating each letter with a love song repeatedly playing on the stereo! She has sent me numerous flower bouqets, and randomly brings me home chocolate bars (my fave!). I woke up once to post-it notes plastered all over the walls containing little things she loves about me.

She is the most spontaneous, caring, intelligent, loving person I have ever known, and I thank God everyday that she continues to choose me. She complements me in every area that I am weak, and she gives me something to look forward to waking up for every morning. She makes me a stronger person, and has made me the person I was always meant to be. She has taught me to live for today and to not take one single kiss or smile for granted. We keep things new and fresh between us, always making time for our relationship and never putting outside influences, like phones, tvs, computers etc, before each other.

Our engagement story is fairly unique in the fact that we both proposed to one another.

On July 2nd, 2010, we decided to go downtown for an amazing dinner at Blackstone's. After being lost in each other for hours, we took a walk down the street to marvel at the beautiful scenery and enjoy the warm weather. I remember us looking up at the sky along the way and noticing that there was only one star in the entire sky. Shortly we came across a set of stairs that led to the river and the most amazing waterfall you've ever seen. We went underneath the waterfall, where she got down on one knee and tearfully professed her love to me. My heart was beating so hard and I was completely lost in the moment. I couldn't believe that this amazing person wanted to spend her life with… me! After I said yes, we walked over to the river where we looked up to the sky and saw that it was miraculously filled with stars…it was magical.

I proposed to Amber on August 18th, 2010, at a concert that was near and dear to our hearts.

When we first started dating, the song "Free" by Zac Brown Band came on the radio and I always thought the words "All we need is love" summed up our relationship perfectly. Amber always commented that that was my song to her.

So when they came to town, I thought there would be no better way to ask her to spend her life with me than to ask while they sang my favorite line in person. We had such an amazing day when I surprised her and showed up to her work, without her knowing we would even be going. She had asked several times that week if we could go but as far as she knew, I had to work and wouldn't be able to. So as planned, they belted out the words "all we need is love" and as I slipped the ring on her finger, engraved with the words "Forever Home," I asked her to spend the rest of her life with me.

I am looking forward to everything life has to bring. We have the sort of bond that doesn't really exist anymore. Without having cable television, we spend all of our free time just basking in each other's presence. We talk forever about anything and everything, and have the most incredible time whenever we are together. She truly is my best friend, and with the grace of god she will allow me to love her every day for the rest of my life!
